2 more dengue deaths, 278 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs

Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Wednesday 8:00am to Thursday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 83 this year. 

Of the new deaths, one was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and another in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation).

During the period, 278 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 20,980 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (July 31).

Of the new cases, 72 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 35 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 46 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 35 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 18 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation).

Besides, four were reported in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 35 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), and five in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation).
