Panchagarh again records lowest temperature of 10.5°C

Panchagarh has once again recorded the season’s lowest temperature at 10.5°C, as confirmed by the Tentulia Weather Office on Sunday morning.

The district’s night-time temperature remained unchanged, with the cold showing no signs of weakening. Despite some morning sunlight, the chill persisted across the area.

Over the past few days, the steady drop in night-time temperatures has intensified the cold spell in this northern district. Each evening, chilly northern winds combined with dense fog bring a sharp, biting cold that lasts throughout the night. The area remains covered in light to heavy fog until dawn, when the rising sun begins to ease the chill.

Although the sunshine from morning to noon offers some relief, the cold returns by late afternoon and continues until sunrise the next day, causing hardship for early-morning wage earners.

Jitendranath Roy, Acting Officer of the Tetulia Weather Observatory, said that Sunday’s minimum temperature stood at 10.5°C, with the daytime temperature slightly decreasing to 26.5°C and humidity at 100 percent.

The same 10.5°C recorded on Saturday was the lowest temperature nationwide this winter, he said, adding that both daytime and night-time temperatures may drop further in the coming days.
