The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning of strong winds reaching speeds of 45–60 km/h across 19 districts of the country by Saturday evening, along with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms.

According to a forecast valid from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, inland river ports in several parts of the country are likely to experience temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or northwest direction.

The affected regions include Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Jessore, Kushtia, Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Sylhet.

The warning, issued by meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque, indicates that the adverse weather may be accompanied by rainfall or thunder showers, increasing the risk of sudden weather disruptions in these areas.

In light of the forecast, the Meteorological Department has advised river ports in the affected regions to hoist cautionary signal number one.

Authorities have also urged caution for river navigation, particularly for small and medium vessels, due to the likelihood of rough weather conditions.

Residents in the warned areas have been advised to remain alert, take necessary precautions, and follow updates from official weather bulletins as conditions may change rapidly throughout the day.
