2 suffer bullet wounds in N'ganj BNP infighting

Two people, including a teenage boy, suffered bullet wounds during a clash between two factions of the BNP in Narayanganj's Fatulla over the garment factory waste business.

The wounded have been identified as Mohammad Rakib, 23, son of Md Hossain Khoka, the organising secretary of ward 2 unit BNP under Enayetnagar union, and Mohammad Imran, 14, son of Asmaul Hossain of Panchabati in Fatulla.

The two individuals sustained bullet wounds in Chandni House area around 11:00 am, and they were first taken to a local hospital and from there, shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment, said one Sirajul Islam, who took them to the DMCH.

Two students injured by gunshots were brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and the police station concerned has been informed about the matter, said DMCH police outpost in-charge inspector Md Faruque.

The Narayanganj correspondent of Jago News said two groups of local BNP members clashed over the waste business of a garment factory in the Chandni Housing area. During the clash, they exploded crude bombs and fired gunshots.

The clash stemmed from a dispute over the garment factory waste business, Hasinuzzaman, additional superintendent of police, Narayanganj, said, adding that additional police personnel have been deployed to the spot, and the situation is now under control.
