65 detained in Operation Devil Hunt in Gazipur

Police have detained 65 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) as part of the nationwide crackdown under ‘Operation Devil Hunt.’

Law enforcers from five police stations in Gazipur conducted the operation throughout Saturday night and detained the individuals.

The identities of the detainees could not be confirmed immediately.

Gazipur Superintendent of Police Dr Chowdhury Md Jaber Sadek confirmed the matter to Jago News at 9:30 am on Sunday. He stated that as of 9:00 am, a total of 40 individuals had been detained under Operation Devil Hunt, which began the previous night.

However, Additional Police Commissioner Jahidul Islam said that the Gazipur Metropolitan Police, Bangladesh Army, RAB, and other law enforcement agencies carried out operations throughout the night, also detaining 25 people.
