Name in BDR massacre probe: Letter to Yunus seeks IGP's dismissal
A Supreme Court lawyer has written to the Chief Adviser demanding the dismissal of the Inspector General of Police, Baharul Alam, as he has been named in the BDR massacre probe report for failing to perform his then duties.
SM Julfikar Ali Junu, the chairman of the National Lawyers' Council, sent the letter via post on Saturday, December 6.
In the letter, Julfikar said that holding the post of IGP despite his name appearing in the BDR carnage investigation report creates doubt among people about the government system and judiciary. That is why IGP Baharul should be relieved from his post or dismissed immediately.
