1.42 lakh litres of hoarded edible oil seized, Tk 6 lakh fined

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has identified unusual stocks of around 142,171 litres of edible oil during drives conducted to prevent an artificial crisis.
The abnormal stocks were identified during a total of nine mobile courts in Feni, Narsingdi, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Narayanganj and Kushtia, and some entities were fined about Tk 602,000 on various charges.
MZM Intekhab Chowdhury, director of RAB's legal and media wing, provided this information on Thursday, April 9.
Such operations will continue to prevent any artificial crisis in the market and ease consumers' suffering, he said.
